In 2023, the R10 IEEE Computer Society both professional and student chapters have organized many activities. I hope in 2024 we can see more in-person IEEE Computer Society activities are taking place in Region 10. I would like to thank all the R10 IEEE CS Chapter Chairs and volunteers for their effort in organizing many programs in 2023.
R10 IEEE CS have organized several programs in 2023. The R10 CS Chapter Congress (R10CSCC) was held in Putrajaya, Malaysia from 19-21 May 2023. The R10CSCC was attended by R10 CS GAC and Chapter Chairs from R10. The R10 IEEE CS goals and programs for 2023 was presented during the meeting. The Chapter Chairs presented their 2023 Chapter activities and plans.
R10 IEEE CS also organized the First R10 CS Summer School (R10CSSS) from 12-15 September 2023 at ANITS, Visakhapatnam. The R10CSSS was attended by 47 participants from R10. During the R10CSSS, the participants were given some hands-on projects led by IoT experts. Finally, the R10 CS organized an IoT innovation video competition and the competition is open to all CS members in R10.
This year there are some changes in the IEEE CS Chapter Grant application system. The R10 CS Chapters (including Student Chapters) are invited to apply for the IEEE CS Chapter Grant. Based on the 2023 IEEE VTools report, there are many CS Chapters in R10 haven’t report their activities. Please ensure all your activities in 2023 are recorded in IEEE vTools.
We have planned more activities for year 2024, these includes Chapter Chairs Congress (virtual and in-person), Student Chapter Summit, R10 CS Summer School, DVP Talks and IEEE VTools Tutorial. Please refer R10 IEEE Computer Society website for details (https://asiapacific.computer.org).
