Chapter Grants: The IEEE Computer Society Board has allocated funding to support member-driven chapter activities and events. Funding is available to all chapters by application.

Funding Available

    • Small Grants – up to US $500
    • Medium – US $500 – $1,000
    • Large – US $1,000 – $2,000. On application, be prepared to explain how the planned activities will impact the chapter, the Computer Society, and/or the world.

*Student branch chapters may apply for small grants only.

Funding is competitive and available on a first-come, first served basis and reviewed by committee as received. Chapters may apply for multiple grants in any given year.

Chapters receiving grants will be asked to complete a final report.

Core Funding: The Computer Society matches the chapters IEEE sections’ first US $200 of chapter funding, provided chapters meet the qualifications below.

    • Be an IEEE Computer Society Professioal Section or Joint Section Chapter in good standing
    • Have a Chapter Chair registered with IEEE Officer Reporting
    • Run and reported at least 2 technical activities for the current reporting year

Incentive Funding: As a reward for Section Chapters and Joint Chapters that are best advancing our strategic goals, they will be provided with additional funding.

Invite an accomplished leader in computing and tech to your next chapter event. Visit our Distinguished Visitor Program page for more information on the application process. The Computer Society will also fund the travel of speakers to visit both Student and Professional Chapters.

Zoom Webinar Access for Chapters

All Region-10 IEEE-CS Student and Professional Chapters can now avail the service of Zoom Webinar for their chapter events and activities. This service is in support of IEEE-CS R10 Geographic Organisational Units & GAC Sub-Committees. It is only available to R10 GAC members, R10 GAC Sub-Committees (Area, Sub-Area, SACs) Professional and Student Chapters Officers.

    • Unlimited webinar sessions for up to 30 hours each
    • Exportable registrant and attendee lists
    • Participants limit of 1000
    • Live streaming

IEEE Web Hosting for Chapters

This service is intended to meet the needs of IEEE Organizational Units that want to develop, create and maintain their own websites on an IEEE host.

The general philosophy is that posting Organizational Units will be responsible for their contents, their maintenance and their conformance to IEEE policy.

Organizational Units are expected to choose a single webmaster who is skilled in managing web contents. This webmaster will be the Organizational Unit contact.

IEEE Surveys (SurveySparrow) Tool

IEEE MGA sponsors this survey tool for regions/sections/chapters/affinity groups. The tool can be used to quickly create online surveys using intuitive interface and distribute them via e-mail, web link, etc. Survey Access Request Form.
